My studio is always occupied by one or two little souls. This time, it's little Piper. For the autumn days, I made her a linen dress adorned with delicate linen lace, a patterned cardigan, and a mustard-colored Scarf.
Piper is a free-standing doll, with proportions resembling a six year old child. Her legs and arms can bend, and she can sit beautifully. The neck can turn side to side, as well as up and down. The entire body is needle-felted from wool, with no stuffed parts. I sculpted the face myself from special clay. The whole doll is covered with fabric made specifically for dollmaking. Her eyes are painted with textile paints, and her cheeks are softly blushed with beeswax crayons. She has natural mohair hair, which should be handled gently. I sew all her outfits using my own original patterns, and I also make the shoes from natural leather. She stands approximately 45-46 cm (17.3 inches) tall and is intended for ages 12+ or adult doll collectors.
