Do you remember those times? Buying a new school bag used to be such a big and joyful event every year. I remember the excitement of sorting all my school supplies into a bag that smelled so wonderfully "brand new." I made this pretty little school bag for a sweet little schoolgirl named Faye, who has a tiny, fluttering heart as she goes to school for the very first time - and she really seems to love it!
Faye is a free-standing doll, with proportions resembling a six year old child. Her legs and arms can bend, and she can sit beautifully. The neck can turn side to side, as well as up and down. The entire body is needle-felted from wool, with no stuffed parts. I sculpted the face myself from special clay. The whole doll is covered with fabric made specifically for dollmaking. Her eyes are painted with textile paints, and her cheeks are softly blushed with beeswax crayons. She has natural mohair hair, which should be handled gently. I sew all her outfits using my own original patterns, and I also make the shoes from natural leather. She stands approximately 45-46 cm (17.3 inches) tall and is intended for ages 12+ or adult doll collectors.
