Sometimes creating a doll feels uncertain, full of doubts. But the moment I draw her eyes and meet her gaze, everything becomes effortless. She tells me her name, what she wears, where she belongs - even something about myself. Those quiet hours in my cozy studio are when she and I truly come alive together. Meet- Esme.
This is a free-standing doll, with proportions resembling a six year old child. Her legs and arms can bend, and she can sit beautifully. The neck can turn side to side, as well as up and down. The entire body is needle-felted from wool, with no stuffed parts. I sculpted the face myself from special clay. The whole doll is covered with fabric made specifically for dollmaking. Her eyes are painted with textile paints, and her cheeks are softly blushed with beeswax crayons. She has natural mohair curly hair, which should be handled gently. I sew all her outfits using my own original patterns, and I also make the shoes from natural leather. She stands approximately 45-46 cm (17.3 inches) tall and is intended for ages 12+ or adult doll collectors.
