Sybil, my first dear creation
Sybil was in my head long before she was created. I carried her around, nurturing the thought and imagining every detail. I knew exactly how she will look like. When I finally gave in to temptation and started making her, my first ever art doll, I struggled real hard - day after day, attempt after attempt I tried to make her right - and though everyone said it is fine already I wasn’t satisfied, because I knew exactly how she must look.
Finally, after 4 months of endless attempts and falls I am extremely happy and proud to share her with you. Sybil already taught me so much - she was very patient throughout the whole process.
Sybil is a gentle dreamer, who loves looking through the roof windows and exploring the sky. For her to be able to do so she can move her neck not only to the sides but up and down as well. She is goofy too - I knew that she will love running around so I persisted to make her as able as I could. Sybil can bend her knees and her torso.
Her dress is seaside inspired - the sound of sea waves and wind is her element. She has handmade leather boots and a very soft hand knitted cardigan which keeps her warm in this chilly seaside weather.
Sybil is one of the kind creation. Her head, torso and legs are needle felted and sculpted so it is very firm but soft. The outer fabric is high quality jersey from Netherlands. Her face is sculpted (needle felted) as well. Sybil's eyes are embroidered with cotton floss. Lips and cheeks are blushed with beeswax. Her arms are freely hanging. The doll has joint skeleton so her neck torso and legs can be moved and bend. There is no metal or sharp details used. Sybil's hair is made of goat’s fibres. It needs to be handled gently. The doll is free standing. She is collectible, not meant for children.
Sybil is looking forward to travel home to her family that will love her as much as I do. You can adopt her HERE.
